At Crest View Recovery Center, individual therapy for substance abuse treatment plays a major role in helping clients achieve sobriety. It allows them to discuss their substance abuse issues in a non-judgmental, one-on-one setting with a qualified, compassionate therapist. Our goal is to help you understand your addiction and work toward changing addictive behaviors and thought patterns.
Why Individual Therapy For Substance Abuse Is Important
While we believe group therapy and family therapy are excellent addiction therapy resources, individual therapy really lays the groundwork for sustainable recovery. Not only does it give you a trusted outlet to share concerns, but it gives you the opportunity to analyze the behaviors that led you to treatment in the first place. Using various evidence-based therapeutic techniques, individual therapy for substance abuse can help you:
- Set short and long-term recovery goals
- Establish healthier social, professional and family relationships
- Improve your outlook on life
- Develop stronger mental and emotional health
How Often Will You Attend Individual Therapy Sessions at CVRC?
As part of our extensive rehab treatment program model, you’ll participate in one-on-one individual therapy every week and small group therapy sessions with your primary therapist at least five times a week. Specifically, the frequency gives you ample time to develop meaningful relationships with therapists and psychiatrists as you work together to overcome addiction. After finishing Rehab Treatment, you’ll move into our intensive outpatient program. Moreover, at this level of care, clients typically visit the facility three times a week. Depending upon your individualized treatment plan, our staff merges individual therapy and group therapy into about nine hours of treatment per week for an additional 4-6 weeks.
As you can see, individual therapy for substance abuse requires commitment to each session. However, these sessions will help you gain a better understanding of your addiction and what it’s going to take in recovery.
How Our Reality-Based Model Supplements Individual Therapy
At CVRC, we use a reality-based therapy model to put life skill strategies and coping skills into action. Unlike many treatment centers, we strive to put people in real-life situations. Instead of being locked up at a rehab facility, we re-create real living environments for all of our clients. You’ll live in gender-specific facilities and even go out for supervised activities on the weekend. In essence, we teach our clients how to live life on life’s terms.
