As the leader of our team, Brett has worked in the addiction field for over 12 years. He has knowledge of every department in treatment and working experience as a behavioral health tech, medical assistant, case manager, admissions coordinator/director and owner. As CEO of CVRC, he is committed to creating the premier treatment facility in North Carolina. His work and life experiences allow him to connect with those seeking help and assist his staff with being the best they can be. His experience allows him the opportunity to not only help the addict/alcoholic but to also lead the facility in its daily operations. As the CEO, he is committed to providing the best services to the clients, families and staff of CVRC.
Chief Financial Officer
With Dara’s enthusiasm about recovery and passion for this industry, she expressed interest in being part of CVRC as this business started. Her experience as an independent contractor has taught her money management, accounting and customer service skills. With her degree in Business Marketing, she knows what a business needs in order to run smooth behind the scenes. Her personal relations skills and organization help to make CVRC a wonderful environment for both our team and our clients.
Chief Operating Officer
Lisa has over 12 years experience in the substance abuse and mental health field. She also owns a successful sober living facility in Asheville. She received her BA Degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Asheville and is currently pursuing her Certified Substance Abuse Counselor credential.
Program Director, CSAC, ICADC
Adam is an experienced, certified substance abuse counselor and owns a successful sober living facility in Asheville. Adam has over 12 years experience working with and in treatment centers. Adam practices meditation and other wellness-based activities in his personal life. He has established those practices into CVRC’s program, making him a vital member of our team.
Dr. David Garver
Medical Director, Psychiatrist
Dr. Garver has a 32-year clinical and academic career as Professor of Psychiatry & Pharmacology. Starting in 2004, he had worked in Louisville, KY, in community mental health and was Medical Director of an inpatient unit. He moved to Asheville in 2008 where he was a consultant at the VAMC, a clinician at Skyland Behavioral Health. He also did temporary duty in several locations in Western North Carolina.
Clinical Director, LCSW, LCAS, CCS
Patrice has over 30 years experience working in social work and mental health/substance abuse counseling. She received her Master’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and has worked in a variety of settings, including community-based outpatient, hospital and classroom settings. Patrice specializes in substance abuse treatment, trauma and women’s issues.
Clinician, LCSW-A, LCAS-A
Mary joined the Crest View team after completing her masters degree in Social Work from Columbia University in New York City. Most of her experience has been dedicated to helping people recover from the effects of substance use disorder and mental health concerns. Mary has worked in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient, long-term residential, and intensive outpatient at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. She incorporates mindfulness, meditation, DBT, and CBT into a holistic approach to treatment.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Nick has been working in the substance abuse field since 2012. He began his professional journey as a wilderness therapy guide. He led expeditions into the backcountry for young men struggling with drugs and alcohol while maintaining an atmosphere of recovery.
Nick draws from his own personal experiences in life and recovery in order to help better carry a message of recovery and a better way of life. He believes that anyone can recover from a life of addiction and is passionate in his role as a counselor here at CVRC.
In his spare time, you can find Nick backpacking with his dog Sam, flyfishing in a number of mountain streams, enjoying some live music or simply spending time with friends and family.
Clinician, LPC-A, LCAS-A
Jen is an Asheville native who received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University. Jen has worked in private practice and is experienced working in inpatient substance dependence treatment. Jen is licensed as a professional counselor and clinical addictions specialist.
Marc has 16 years of experience working in the field of recovery. A few of his many certifications include: non-violent communication, smoking cessation and crisis resolution. Marc has a passion for working in the field and enjoys spending time watching clients find their own path to recovery. When he’s not working, he spends his free time riding his motorcycle or out enjoying the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

Community Outreach Coordinator
A valuable addition to our team, Melanie moved to Asheville from Charleston, SC. She holds a degree from the College of Charleston and has a background in sales and marketing. In SC, she held the position of Marketing Representative for a behavioral health and substance abuse hospital located in the Charleston area. Melanie has a passion for being a resource for referral sources, families and individuals seeking drug and alcohol treatment. She loves the culture and arts that Asheville has to offer and takes advantage of all of the hiking and outdoor adventure in the area with her family that lives locally and her Golden Retriever, Finn.
